Campaign group Power for People have thanked Geoffrey for supporting a proposed new law, known as the Local Electricity Bill. If made law, communities across the UK could buy their electricity from local, renewable sources, helping to reduce the UK’s dependency on volatile gas supplies.
Geoffrey has, together with over 30 other MPs and Peers, written to the Prime Minister asking him to introduce a new White Paper to designed to promote the growth of the rural economy, following the publication of a major new report by a cross-party group.
On 21 April 2022, Geoffrey joined Torridge Council's Chief Executive Steve Hearse and Chief Financial Officer David Heyes on a trip to meet Government Minister, Kemi Badenoch MP, in London.
On 18 March, Geoffrey met ex Royal Engineer and Bideford Resident, James Ryan, on his training run in Appledore to offer support for James’ attempt to complete the famous “Marathon Des Sables” race next week to raise money for Walking with the Wounded.
