Local MP for Torridge and West Devon, Geoffrey Cox QC, welcomed to the Houses of Parliament students from St Margaret's Church Primary School, Bideford, on Thursday 6 June 2019.
The students met their local MP following a tour of the Palace and quizzed him about various topical issues of local and national significance, such as single use plastics and crime.
The students also found out more about Mr Cox’s role as the Member of Parliament and his duties as the Attorney General.
Following the visit, Mr Cox said: “I was delighted to welcome the pupils from St Margaret's to the Houses of Parliament and would like to thank the teachers for their efforts in arranging the visit. I was most impressed with the range of questions they asked me. It was excellent to see their interest in these important issues at such a young age.”
