Today, Geoffrey gave a talk on the role of the Attorney General in the UK Constitution to some international visitors at the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock.
The post-graduate law students from the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, who are spending up to a year in the UK studying law at the Notre Dame campus in London, were walking and staying on Dartmoor and took the opportunity to invite Geoffrey, the former Attorney General, to speak to them. The Law School of the University of Notre Dame is making a donation of £500 to Tavistock mental health charity, “Make a Difference”, of which Geoffrey is the Patron.
Geoffrey said:
“I was delighted to talk to the law students about some of the differences and similarities between our constitutions and to explain the role of the Attorney General. It was also a great pleasure to meet the lecturers and students and to tell them about some of the history of our area. I am very grateful indeed for the Law School’s kind donation to Make a Difference, here in Tavistock, which does such valuable work within our local community.”
