Geoffrey and his fellow Devon MPs have written to several local newspapers to thank our local volunteer heroes:
From our visits to mass vaccination centres, briefings and close dialogue with local health authorities, we have witnessed the superb efforts that the NHS, Devon, Plymouth and Torbay’s public health officers and many others are making in the local implementation of what is the most successful national vaccination programme in the world.
But, today, we would like to thank especially the hundreds of local volunteers who, every day, are making an essential contribution to the mission to protect Devon’s population against the pandemic. Their efficiency, cheerfulness, goodwill and selflessness have been a privilege to behold and have demonstrated the capacity and character of the British people to rally and inspire before the harshest of adversities.
